But Better Wellness is more than that Not only keeping your body healthy, but developing the mindset and balance that prevents illness. Our guests are experienced experts in the world of staying healthy, young and well. Our guest is David Delrahim. Good morning, david. Wellness expert and noted visionary in the field of wellness. Today he's going to share the power of emotion in our lives. Welcome, david. Nice seeing you again. We have a fascinating topic today emotion. Very emotional, david, what?
David Delrahim:is emotion. Emotion is sensory, it's human sensory. The things that we sense through our senses could be smell, could be what we observe through our eyes, our ears, touch. That is what really triggers emotions inside our body and it comes through how we act, how we look, how sometimes we hear or understand the hearing, and how we perceive what we smell or taste.
Roland Perez:Let me ask you quickly does emotion affect wellness?
David Delrahim:It certainly does. It has deep roots. Emotion is the byproduct of the sensories, with what we already have in our file cabinets in our head, in our brain, in our hearts and at the cellular level, because even our cells have memories. So the information that we receive, combined with what we have in our filings, creates emotions and then we react to that emotions, even stress. We get stressed out from the stress, we get angry. When we get angry, our chemical, we create chemical imbalance through our own body and we even have some joint pains right after we show anger. Or we get tired, we get migraine. Of course it has everything to do with wellness.
Roland Perez:What are some of the emotions I know hate, love, fear, grief, anger and how do they affect us individually?
David Delrahim:So you know there are two, as I call it, windows to look into the world and into the living. I call it positive and negative, positive experience, positive emotions and negative emotions. Being connected with the positivity, that means looking at life, living and the world from the positive angle I call it love, and from the negative angle, I call it hate. The love is, I call it hate. The love is, I call it light, the hate is the darkness. So everything that happens through each one of these channels, it connects us with that channel. Only, once we switch channels, we switch the experience and that experience affects our perception and that perception. It creates the behavior that becomes the byproduct of the perception. That the perception came from the sensory, and the sensory is what sometimes we choose to be left or right?
Roland Perez:How does meditation have a part in emotion?
David Delrahim:Meditation definitely has a lot to do with the wellness. So let's begin. What is the purpose of meditation? What does meditation do? Meditation calms the brain. In that state of calmness we become more present. That means the perceptive view of the life and living experience that we have. It becomes smaller and smaller. That is being present. That means it is all about right now, when the perception expands. We live in the past busy or in the future. We know what happens when we live in the past depression and we know what happens in when we live in the future. That's anxiety. So it's only presence that we can bring ourselves to the moment. We experience peace, calmness and the quality of life that we are here to enjoy.
Roland Perez:How do other people's emotions affect you? I mean, there's hatred, there's fear, I guess happiness, You're fine, but all of a sudden your wife comes in and there's a broken window and they're very upset. If you're not angry, you might seem like you don't care. Do other people's emotions affect you and your wellness?
David Delrahim:So we are energy. We humans are energy and energy fields when we are in each other's presence. You have two different kinds of energies, or multiple different kinds of energies, that they are together. If one comes up from the positive window and you have another one that is from the negative window, that means it's tapped into the negative experience of life. We emit energy. We have our own energy field, that energy field that it is tuned to the negative channel. It is completely on a different frequency the one that is on the positive. That's a different frequency as well.
David Delrahim:So if you have one negative and one positive, or you have one negative, multiple positive and vice versa, it's a mix. Of course they're all being affected by each other. It's just frequency and different entities you have that they emit different frequency. They impact each other. So if you really want wanna have a quality of life in the present moment, make sure and be mindful of the space that you are in. Make sure that space is protected. If you know you are being positive in the moment, look around you. Make sure that everything is there to support you is on the same frequency.
Roland Perez:David, I was thinking have you ever experienced walking up to a total stranger and having an immediate reaction to him? You know you meet someone and you just have a positive feeling about them, or the opposite, like the other day. I was parking somewhere and this guy comes out shouting no parking here, no parking. Even before he spoke I didn't like him. So why is that?
David Delrahim:So why is that? Frequency and vibrations has everything to do with how our experience is set to be in life, and we could be in the presence of others, or we could be on the phone or even on a Zoom call. The energy travels. We are energy beings and you don't necessarily have to have someone in the same room to pick up on that energy. It could be across the world, it could be on the other end of the phone conversation. You don't even have to see them, the energy travels.
David Delrahim:So one thing that I always say is boundaries and limitations. You have to create your own boundaries and you have to have the limitations. We come across certain people that we've never met in our life and we just get gravitated to them and we say you have an amazing energy. Well, it is that frequency of a like, because if you are in the positive state and you have another one that is in the positive state both of you once you get into each other's field, you amplifies your own frequency and the vibration goes up. So you feel great. That's emotion. You feel so good about being at somebody else's presence, but ultimately you feel good about yourself because you have amplified your frequency, just went up and you like that.
David Delrahim:Again, you could be on a phone call and somebody is not being nice, kind and you say I just don't enjoy this conversation. Have a great day, we talk some other time or maybe we won't even talk. So that is the boundaries and limitations that you know that you are. If in somebody else's field the wrong frequency, create that boundaries, and if that frequency is not about to change, remove yourself from that frequency. It's a choice, because if you stay in it, that's toxic and it would impact your wellness.
Roland Perez:How do you control your emotions? What's the best way? How?
David Delrahim:do we control emotion? It's a choice. And you might say what do you mean? I get angry or I love someone? Is a choice, absolutely, it is. You choose which window or which channel to be working out of. That's your choice. There's nobody else that says this. So how do we get that? If something trips me off, if something just makes me angry, I have a choice not to be angry. Absolutely, it's a choice. So if something gets you angry, so immediately that anger, you know where that comes from. You're walking off of a negative channel, which is the left window. So what is your choice? Change the channel, go to the right side, remove yourself from that. Boundaries and limitations. I just choose. See, it's a choice. I choose not to be here, I choose not to be involved in this discussion, I choose not to have this relationship.
David Delrahim:You have to exercise your freedom of choice power, all right. So of course, you need other tools. You know what how to maintain and sustain that. That comes with work. You have to work on it. You know you have to, which is really all about that whole wellness journey. You know, in order to maintain and sustain it, you have to be clean.
David Delrahim:You have to practice certain guidelines. It's a practice, it's a journey, it is we are. When I say change the channel, you don't have a remote control for yourself, doesn't exist, it's just knowing, having the wisdom being so present with yourself that in that moment you know, know, is nothing but a choice.
Roland Perez:David, you should teach these ideas to police departments.
David Delrahim:You know what? You gave me an idea. I would love to work with the law enforcement, Because the law enforcement, these poor guys, I really believe they're all underpaid, overworked and underappreciated.
David Delrahim:Definitely underappreciated Right but let's park that on the sideline. What is it that? They are involved From morning to night, from the night to the morning. All right, they are either rushing or they are in negative field. That the negative left window. That is their job to deal with the all of these energies there's coming at them, not on the right side. Nobody calls, says, hey, you know what, can you send the police because I love you so much? No, no, they call when they're in distress. Where is the distress Left window, Not the right. So that cop, that policeman or policewoman is rushing to where Left window. Knows once he or she gets there, what is the energy that is coming at her? Negative, hostile, potentially, or distressed, or somebody is about to die, or somebody is trapped, all of these things. The stress is left.
David Delrahim:Imagine that officer is a human being. He's not a robot. He picks up all of these emotions and you think he's not affected by it. He has heart. He's a human. I don't care how much of training we do. He's human. How much he needs to be present in that moment that he would know he has the power of choice. I know I'm going to the left, but I need to be center or to the right. I know I'm here. It is a difficult task for any human, for any human. And what really is fascinating? That we think that just because we have a title, whether we are doctor, whether we're nurse, whether we are police officer, whether we are firefighters, we have to be flawless because we had training. Are you kidding me? We're human. Whoever is criticizing all of these people, or even sometimes we criticize our own parents For a minute or two, put yourself in their shoes and live the life that they are living. You are no less or no more than them because you're human.
